2009 UCEA Summer Institute

Entrepreneurship in Hard Times

The current economic recession places unprecedented demands on colleges and universities. Yet, turbulent times also offer opportunities to entrepreneurial higher education leaders who can adapt to unexpected change. At UCEA's Summer Institute you will learn how to assess your unit's position, develop strategies to exploit change, and grow your programs.

Institute faculty will examine entrepreneurship from the diverse perspectives of innovation, organizational structure, institutional strengths, market needs, curricular development, and human capital management. The intensive 2.5 day Institute is designed for professional and continuing higher education leaders-including vice presidents, deans, directors, faculty, and program managers. Guided by faculty from public and private universities, the Institute program blends lectures, case studies, and problem-solving exercises in an interactive, cooperative learning format. As an Institute participant, you will gain new insights and practical strategies that can help your organization flourish in these times.
